5.1
Managers and decision making
The
reason that businesses use management systems is so that they can manage resources
and get the correct performances out of the staff involved. They must consider
all problems and issues and how to appropriately deal with them with the resources
available.
5.2
what is business intelligence?
Business
intelligence is how a business or company incorporates data collection
technologies effectively and appropriately apply them.
5.3
Business intelligence applications for data analysis
One
use of data analysis is called data mining. This is where companies and
corporations use data banks to predict trends and behaviours and identify previous
trends and behaviours.
5.4
Business intelligence applications for presenting results.
Once
the data is mined, it is collated into a readable system for everyone to interpret
and understand, so that employees can gain the best results for their upper
management.
5.5
Business intelligence in action: corporate performance management
Performance
management is simply the application of the results to see if what the
employees are achieving is at an acceptable standard.
