Chapter 3 3.1 Managing Data Data can often be placed into different systems that don’t communicate with each other well. When this happens, it can be difficult to gather and manage all the data coming through the many systems. Over the years as the data has changed from physical to digital copies, this means that there are fewer inefficacies of physical data transfer as well as fewer opportunities for certain data to go missing or rotting. 3.2 The Database Approach As the years progressed, there was a distinct lack of planning when single automated systems were created.
